This isn’t just any sandwich; imagine warm, buttery bread with creamy, rich egg salad. There is no extra stuff to hide the taste of the eggs, mayo, mustard, and a bit of salt and pepper.
This recipe is all about keeping it simple. We’re skipping the fancy stuff and going for the classic. It’s a sandwich that lets the eggs shine.

How to Make An Egg Salad Sandwich
Step 1: Hard Boil The Eggs
Gently place eggs into a saucepan and cover with water. Bring the water to a rapid for about 5 minutes. Then remove eggs from the heat and tightly cover with a lid. Let the pan sit for 10 minutes. Place the eggs into a bowl with cold water. Allow to sit for a few minutes, crack and peel.
Step 2: Combine the Ingredients
Roughly chop the eggs and place them in a bowl with the mayo, mustard, salt, and pepper.

Step 3: Prepare the Egg Salad
Add a large tablespoon of egg mixture to a slice of bread and make a sandwich; toast the bread beforehand if you prefer some crunch. You can add extras like lettuce, chives, and pickles if you like.

Storing and Using Leftovers
To keep your egg salad fresh:
- Use an airtight container: This helps prevent contamination and keeps out odors.
- Refrigerate: Store in the coldest part of your fridge.
- Use within 4-5: Egg salad is best enjoyed fresh.
