Hey Dave,

The boys at Pit Boss got back to me and said the following;

After searching Lowes.com it looks like there are 4, 820 pro series grills available in Apache Junction. They are the same model that was available in 2019. As far as I know, Pit Boss doesn’t have a newer 820 model for the Pro Series line coming out this year.

Do you think your going to pick up one mate?

When will the 820ps for 2020 be available.? I have a friend that has one and he really loves it, him and I compare notes often as I have a Treager and I really love mine also but now I’m looking to buy another pellet grill and I really want to get the new 820ps but I don’t think they have come available at Lowe’s in Apache Junction AZ yet. Please advise. Dave.

I found this one super easy to empty, I have heard the same thing as well so I definitely checked that out on this one!

I’d also like to know how easy it is to empty the pellets. I’ve heard horror stories about pellets being left in a grill, swelling up and jamming up the auger requiring way to much time and effort to clear.

I have just purchased a Pit Boss 820 and have only used it once. My concerns are emptying the pellets and if the igniter will last very long since it is glowing red for 5 minutes during start-up. I was wondering if anyone has installed a off-on switch on the igniter? This would enable you to run the auger to remove pellets and would avoid having the igniter on while doing so.

Hope you had an awesome weekend!! Stoked to hear your enjoying your Pit Boss! I have a mate who did ribs for the family and me last month and they were deeeelish, I think he may have usred maple sugar pellets as well!Do you have anymore cookouts coming up soon? Love to see what your creating!

I’ve owned the pit boss for about 4 years now. Absolutely love it. I’ve done turkey with a maple bourbon sauce. Ribs, pulled pork , beer can Jamaican jerk chicken. Works great from low smoke to high heat smoke. Tried Pizza also. Great smoke flavour. I find I like both Apple, cherry and Maple sugar pellets the best. I recommend this smoker to people I know that are looking for one to buy

Hey Bruce,

The pit boss 820 does have the slide for the flame broil option! Let me know if you end up going with that one!
